Privacy notice
Hidden Art Films Ltd is responsible for personal information it receives through enquiries and project discussions. Contact info@hiddenartfilms.com about your information or this notice.
Information and purposes
We use names, contact details, professional information, correspondence and project information you choose to provide to respond to enquiries, consider potential collaborations, arrange discussions and keep appropriate business records. Please do not send sensitive personal information, information about other people that you are not authorised to disclose, or scripts unless specifically requested.
We generally rely on our legitimate interests in operating our production business and dealing with relevant enquiries. Where necessary to take steps at your request towards a contract, we may rely on that basis instead. We use information to comply with legal obligations where applicable. Marketing subscriptions require a separate choice; an enquiry or pitch does not subscribe you to marketing.
Who can receive information
Access is limited to people who need the information for the relevant enquiry or project, and service providers supporting website hosting, email and business administration. Professional advisers may receive information where necessary. We will agree any wider project circulation separately rather than treating a submission as permission to publish it.
Where providers process personal information outside the UK, applicable data-transfer protections must be in place. The services used for receiving submissions and sending acknowledgements will be reflected here before those features are activated.
Storage, retention and your rights
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting discussions, and review whether continued retention is justified. Relevant contractual, accounting and dispute records may need to be retained longer to meet legal obligations or protect legal rights. Information is not kept indefinitely simply because it was sent to us.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability where applicable. Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it. Email us to exercise your rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Current review-site forms: the project form prepares a summary on your device. It does not currently send your answers to Hidden Art Films. Email links open your email application; information reaches us when you send that email. The newsletter preview does not create a subscription. These statements will be updated when connected submission services are enabled.
Project submission terms
We welcome concise project enquiries through the route indicated on our Pitch a Project page. Please read these terms before sending information.
- Send the requested material only. Provide a logline, short synopsis, project stage, team information and the support sought. Optional non-script links may include a pitch deck, teaser, reel or filmmaker website. Do not send scripts, script attachments or script links unless we request them.
- Have authority to submit. Send only material you own or have permission to share for consideration. Identify relevant underlying rights and whether they are secured or still being sought. Do not disclose another person’s confidential information.
- You keep your rights. Submitting does not transfer copyright or ownership to us. It permits us to receive, store and review the material as reasonably necessary to consider the enquiry. Production, option, purchase, representation or other commercial rights require a separate written agreement.
- No automatic commitment. Receipt does not guarantee review, feedback, a meeting, financing or production, and creates no partnership, employment or representation relationship. We may decline or pause consideration according to our capacity and project priorities.
- Confidentiality. Sending information does not itself create a non-disclosure agreement. Please discuss confidentiality before sharing particularly sensitive material. This does not authorise us to publish your pitch, exploit your protected work or disregard our legal duties.
- Independent development. We may already be considering or independently develop projects with similar ideas, subjects or themes. Similarity alone does not establish copying. Nothing in these terms transfers your rights or waives a valid infringement claim.
- Personal information and access. The privacy notice above explains personal-information handling. Contact info@hiddenartfilms.com if you need an accessible way to provide the requested information.
Any later project agreement will set out its own scope, rights and obligations. These terms do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Accessibility
We aim to make this website usable with a keyboard, readable on different screen sizes and understandable with assistive technology. Images have text alternatives where they convey information, and decorative logos are accompanied by festival names.
We have not completed an independent accessibility audit and do not claim full conformance to an accessibility standard. External platforms and older films may have different accessibility limitations.
If you encounter a barrier, email info@hiddenartfilms.com with the page, what went wrong and the format or adjustment that would help. We will discuss an alternative way to access relevant information or make an enquiry.
Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy also explains access requests and how to raise concerns about working with us.
